Throughout my journey as an artist, I discovered that I want to create things that evoke emotion. Typically, when I begin my creative process, I take into consideration how I am feeling or what I want to portray with that particular piece. Color is something that I generally experiment with to stir up different reactions from the viewer to the content. I am inspired by nature, so often elements such as flowers, vines, leaves, water, and other related subject matter will make an appearance in my artwork.
As a Graphic Design major, my art form of choice is digital illustration and photo manipulation. I enjoy using layers and levels in Adobe Photoshop to transform ordinary-looking photos that I have taken or objects I have found into something extraordinary and different. My favorite media, however, is digital illustration; with this skill, I am able to take realistic images, whether they are for reference or I am actually drawing that particular thing, and illustrate them in my own unique style. When a viewer experiences a piece of my art, I want them to feel something, or to at least be able to indicate what emotion ties in with it. The aim I have for my work is for people to relate to it, and to also be inspired by it.
